You can not register the battery through iDrive.

I bought an aftermarket battery, put it in and drove to dealer to register it. They did it and wanted 25? for the job.

Registering the battery is a very minor job and takes about 10 mins.

Enthusiastic. If anything, you can buy a battery and the scan tool, and it will more than likely be cheaper than going to the dealer and you get a tool you can use for all sorts of things down the road. Just saying...

Professional also does have coding.

Thanks for the link. So I assume that you have the Professional version since the cheaper version does not do coding. One more question, does the professional version does the mirror coding to make mirror folding (if I get the M5 mirror) ? I did not see this piece of information in that website's coding matrix.

you have to get the battery registered at the dealer
