My Ride: 535d Sport, carbon black, media pack, visibility pack, grey leather, heated seats, sun protection glass, voice control, Eibach ProKit, 19" 166 style wheels, e-maps ECU remap to 325hp and 640NM, top speed limiter removed
Absolute nonsense. On your car the runflat technology is only in the sidewall of the tyre. Got nothing to do with the rim at all.
I run 18" winter tyres non runflat on my 135's the second year now.
Some places are just ill informed and won't know any better than hearsay until they have done one. There might be other manufacturers out there that have special rims for rf's, but I don't know any.
The wheels are exactly the same as they are for non RF

when they change them, check your rims carefully before and after.
Due to the very stiff and thick sidewalls, the tyres, without a special tool, are an absolute pig to get off. They will come off but the fitters will curse you for a while.
