Hi guys

I'm a proud owner of an E60 2006 535d, the Auto gear stick is the old style one, its not in the best condition either.
So im lookink at replacing it altogether, I know I cant go for the new style gear stick because its a completelty different gear box.
But I was wondering whether there are more attractive styles available out there that look similar to the new OEM ones?

Im no DIY man, Can anyone shed some more light on the connections, trimming the original shift stalk, removing the original trim ....etc

PM member schlurog. I believe that's his site. I'm curious about cutting the stalk as well. The wiring harness comes with it.
