I am getting replacement OEM-size rotors and pads. Need the most track performance and good road performance combo - I "track" occasionally, and am planning to do it more and more in this coming season. With OEM brakes had a LOT of fading issues, so I'm glad that the time has come to change the brakes finally.

Torn between two different rotor brands - Centric and R1 Concept. Which one of them, would you say is the better rotor? Cast your vote above, explain away below - would love to hear as much as you can spare to say! Weight plays a big role for me as well - its a NA 6 cyl car, so unsprung weight has to be kept to the minimum. Am planning to get the drilled/slotted ones.

For pads I'm between Hawk and Stoptech, but leaning toward Hawks, since I was just told that they are the SCCA's "pad of choice"

Aren't the 'new' Stoptech pads just relabeled Axis pads?

That's about right, yes.

How many miles you got on them so far? Any more in-depth comments?

From my research so far, seem like both Centric and R1 Concepts start out as the same rotors, but R1 does their own drilling and slotting, which - apparently - results in a higher price but is it worth it???

I don't know how much real-world difference it really makes to justify the price difference. Isn't there about a 100 dollar per axle difference? And if its the same rotor in real-life driving and track behavior is same on either, I don't see the reason to spend the extra cash. I know R1 has a nice marketing strategy, lots of show cars use their products and their models are super hot, etc etc etc, but really, I don't wanna be paying for their marketing - I want to pay for the quality of the product, ya know...

anyway, I've been researching this all night now, so I probably should give myself a little break

Thanks for the PM, Nerwyll, I'll be looking forward to the quotes

Hey V

If you need a performance gain get the directional rotors that have curved vanes for better cooling, which will make the rotors side specific.

Oh yeah I want them double-drilled too
