For those of you that want some tips on changing the CDV, here is what I compiled. I changed my CDV (2008 550i) and the clutch is much smoother to operate - more linear. I used a Zeckhausen part to do mine.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

if you have access to "press drill", it is pretty easy to drill your own CDV. With "press drill", it is much easier to maintain true vertical down for the bit. If your car is out of warranty, just knock out the CDV.
Some model of BMW has plastic type of CDV with quick connect fit. You don't need "press drill" to modify it, just use an hen wench just smaller enough to go through the open, knock the middle "flow restrictor" out. You do this from the smaller side of the open, it will pop and the "unwanted" stuff will come out from the later open side. Put it back to your car, that's it. ( you might need to bleed the clutch after this. )
