That can happen with some vinyl but given the cost, you are right, it's worth it. Something that might help- try cleaning the surface well with Dawn soap and clay bar to get all the debris off. Then use a credit card to really press the corners down, this may help adhere. You can also use a heat gun or hair dryer after it is installed (or just leave the car in the sun) to bake it onto the surface.
