They have a trunk lid and hood for MSRP of 1500 total. The lid costs more than the hood. These items will work for that member stripping his car out for weight savings ![Big Grin](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/biggrin.gif)

I did not see any pictures or pricing on their site. Where are you getting the prices from? Also, how's their fitment and quality?
No clue on the fit quality. I also wish they would include some weights on the items since I assume most people replacing hoods would be interested in the weight.
Do those same hoods fit on an M5? I assumed M5s have different hoods? For that matter does the M5 have a carbon fiber roof like the new M3?

Thanks! Prices are not too bad actually but not for what little savings it provides. I did not know the hood was already aluminum and a carbon fiber hood is still basically fiberglass with a sheet of carbon fiber integrated into the plastic-as you know CF is not a solid material per-say it is a thin sheet that is used to "coat" other materials.

Many old discussions about it : the E60 hood is already enough light, so you can lose a few lbs but at an high price .

Does anyone have or know of any good quality carbon fiber hoods that look identical to OEM hood only weigh less obviously. I would love to swap out the hood for a 40 pound savings if possible since I am guessing the hood is one of the heavier parts on our car that is swappable quite easily. It is obviously not made out of aluminum based on how heavy it is
You can loose 50 lbs by taking the muffler off and do str8 pipes from the resonator back and this will cost you $200
