Hi, guys -

Is there something like "Carbon Fiber-looking paint" I could use to paint my calipers?

I want to stick with the Black (=car paint) and Carbon Fiber (=future front lip/trunk lid spoiler/mirror/interior trim mods etc.) theme, and that's why I think the usual red, black, silver or gold caliper paint color is not exactly the best choice...

I thought about buying caliper covers, but aside from those keeping the cool air away from the brakes, the Carbon Fiber covers cost almost $300 and look like junk. Needless to say, I find that ridiculous and unacceptable. And using vinyl CF-look wrap is out of the question too, due to the high temperatures (and it would probably never stick anyway).

So... what do you guys think is the best color for my calipers, if it is to match the overall black & carbon fiber theme of my ride?

Thanks!

Carbon fiber looking paint? Have you tried the shelf next to the tartan looking paint? Sorry, I could not resist!

You guys are always in for a good laugh, huh? (..."Ha ha ha" and "LOL".. )

Well,
Of course, there is no such thing as "Carbon Fiber paint", and I am well aware of it (...imagine that!!)
I was just hoping to get some more serious feedback from you about what may be a good color for the calipers, if one tries to match them to the black & carbon fiber theme of the car.

Since red may look a bit "too busy", I guess I'll simply go with black then... which is kind of boring, though. Hence, my question about any color you may think comes closest to "Carbon Fiber"... but, nevermind.

Thanks,
Armin

On a serious note, the grey/silver OEM look is a good colour to go with.

One of the overseas members recently posted a DYI on painting his calipers and he used "Carbon" colored paint. I tried to order it myself, but the website wouldn't let me input a US shipping address.
