I put on my winter tires on again yesterday and the car feels so much lighter! Those runflats are heavy beasts.

What do you mean by "lighter?" You may be feeling the less grip in the steering, owing to less rubber (more groove) contact with the pavement, not to mention rubber compound differences; but I doubt that you are feeling minimal tire weight difference. But I suppose it is possible, depending on your wheels.

I recall summer tires in the past requiring much more steering wheel input, vs winter tires, especially at low speeds.

In any event, I'll be interested to hear you wear results.

Cheers,

the same feeling here too. The vwinter tires are so soft and also thick rubber profile so the cars feels like having active steering now
very very easy to turn at low speeds now due to the winter tires

Got the same setup for my 2005 545. Agree on weight issue. But it is more wheels than tires. I had to replace one of my car's front tires and it was not that heavy at all. The rear wheels on the other hand are monsters.
