My Frank Lloyd Wright house is being restored so I am without a garage for the time being, 7 months +/-. I am thinking about getting a car cover to protect my 550 when it is stored outside my house overnight. Does anyone have any suggestions on a car cover? Thanks.

How about a picture of your F.L. Wright? You are one lucky guy! I use a NOAH and am pleased.

Let's see the house!

I don't have any real experiences with outdoor covers but I found this page (which features the NOAH as well as others...)

I have a Bavarian Auto cover. I use it inside (e.g. airport garage) only. The one time I used it outdoors, the wind buffetted it and left a few very light swirl-esq marks on the fenders. I of course polished them out immediately. Black is tough color and I'm compulsive. You may be better off to keep the car waxed and wash it weekly till the construction is complete.

Where are you in Chicago - Oak Park? Lots of F.L.W. works there. I used to live in the West Loop.

I have had similar experience with a car cover outside, especially in the wind. The combination of seams and imbedded dust/dirt on the inside of the cover can cause scratches on the paint surface. If the cover is not clean and/or the car surface is not clean when the cover is put on the car, scratching can occur. All said & done, a good coat of wax and frequent washes is a better solution, IMO.
