A few eye opening experiences can change that perspective, alohalc.

Having said that, I think there are some cheaper alternatives to the 3M clear bra.? I think JDN has one from a different vendor -- I'm sure he'll chime in soon...

I'm not sure it was that much cheaper, Rudy, but it was the Venture kit. Installed it was pennies under $585. The Venture bra and the Huper Optik were about $985 combined. TANSTAAFL

Seriously: My 3M clear bra was $500 installed prior to delivery by the dealer (or whoever they subbed it out to).

Not sure how much the leather one was (but it's worth every darn penny)

You're a better man that I, realty. So was Din. By the time I got through snapping all the hooks on a leather bra, I was usually sweaty or pi$$ed. Taking it off is also a pain, but not as much as putting it on. It was not like that one hand trick I learned to use on the back seat. Also, I with the leather bra I was constantly worried about the sandpaper effect on the paint when running high speed on wet days. The bra took a pretty good buffeting and I just knew that the water getting underneath had road slime. So far, I have not regretted the clear bra, but we've got miles to go before a final call can be made.

I actually prefer the clear bras.? They do their job but don't obstruct the appearance.

Are you still talking about your wife or are you back to the car?

(P.S. - congrats to the Sox! )
