Car blackbox?

I got hit about a year ago, which was the other guys fault. To make a long story short I never called the cops, and he lied to insurance and got away not paying anything. I was thinking recently it would be good to have a camera in the car constantly running, then I discovered car black boxes.
Check out the video of the guy damaging his car on the road, he got the state to pay for the damages because of the video.
Anyone have one of these or something similar? I'm thinking of picking one up, with all the horrible drivers around here I think it would come in handy. What do you guys think?
