I'm sorry if this has been covered before, but I really dislike the new red LEDs that BMW is using for the rear directionals on US LCIs. Is there an easy way to switch them to amber?

That's so funny you say that. With everyone switching to the LCI Tail lights, this is the one feature I can't stand either. I'm totally with you. I think the amber turn signal looks better too.

As to answer your question, I'm not sure. Sorry.

Check out the LCI conversion threads...I believe that you would have to order the entire new assembly (in Euro spec) to get the amber turn signal....check it out it is mentioned in the Bruce Miranda LCI conversion threads.

Since you already have the LCI its very simple swap. Just order the EU parts.

I find it interesting that people actually want the amber lights in the states. Very few like the amber lights (in general) here in Germany. In fact, that was one of the first mods people made before the red lenses were introduced. First from amber to clear and now from amber to red.

If you created a swap forum then that will work. Kidney grills, shadowline trims, interiors, wheels and not taillights.

really?? i think amber turn signals are safer on the road....when i see amber i know that vehicle wants to turn or change lanes, but when i see flashing red it could mean he's pumping the brakes or just a bad brake light , especially when i can only see part of the other car...
