Hi all,

Thinking about the style 166 wheels, but wonder if anyone has put them on without the stagger setup, meaning 245/35/19 all around. I think stagger definitely looks nicer, but then:

1. it weighs more
2. if the setup is the same I can rotate them around
3. tires will be cheaper and in case a tire blows or run flat i have more choices of what to do
4. more choices on tires

To me 245 seems plenty wide, and I really prefer not to add extra weight on the wheel setup since I have a 525i to begin with...

Besides a nicer look (and a slightly better traction with 275 or 285 on the back), what will I be missing by going non-staggered? Is there any other issues that I wasn't thinking of that makes going non-stagger a bad idea?

I don't think the rear wheel (9.5X19) can accommodate 245s. 245s barely fits the front wheel (8.5x19). If you want to use 245s all around you can go with replica 166s.

Don't see any reason why the 245's wouldn't fit at the rear.

The one problem with putting 245's at the rear may be with the offset. You may need to add spacers to correct the problem.

Can I use the OEM 166 front wheels on the back also, meaning get 4 identical front OEM wheels?
I believe the offset of the stagger setup is so that the rear has a higher offset to accomodate the wider tires on the back?
So if I use an 8.5" wide wheel with the 245 tire on the back, should it 'sticks out' the same as the 9.5" wide with 275? The width will be different but the outer wheel surface should be the same for both setup?

The front offset is 12, rear offset is 28 (for 9.5" wheel), so difference is 16, which is roughly half of the added width going from 245 to 275?
