congrats on the supercharger. cant wait to see a video. anyway why cant our car's transmission cant handle more than 550hp. ive seen so many cars(like audi A4, supras and etc.) that can handle much more than that or do they change their transmissions also.

I think it can handle the extra HP, BUT I don't think they want to take the risk of the tranny going out.

So it's not actually built yet? I thought they had done all the design/development... you must be excited . Any news on if they'll get them to us EU guys...

As time moves on: the more I need more HP, the more depreciation the M5 has, the more I think I want an M5 and going on the amount stuff costs to get shipped to UK, the less likely I'll ever get the supercharger I want so much...

Ohhhh what to do

The supercharger is not built yet. They have all the schematics done and now they need the manifold to install the supercharger. We can ship the kit to you guys.

I understand how you feel. As time goes on I keep on wanting the M5 too. I searched last night for one and I found one for 35k-40k!!! INSANE!

How about you wait and see how the supercharger does and we can go from there

you're kidding ! go for an M5 mate - I cannot believe the offers going at the moment in the UK.
M5's are are steal, forget the Porsche Cayenne Turbos going for 20K, even Astons are being flogged off at around 40-45K.

a supercharger is certainly interesting on 545i - no doubt - but imo, it's now or never in the UK for a supercar purchase.

don't start... I've just spent last month convincing myself that I don't need one... "I'll be fine with my 545i, I'll tune it, put the M5 bits on and somehow get it over 400BHP". I know I'm dreaming and I know I want an M5... I always have... I've even considered going back to the e39. It doesn't help it when you get the traffic light grandprixs either. I stayed with an e36 M3 evo the other day through to 4th gear and then had to slow down... I was happy that his face was sickened that I had, but I would have liked to have flown past him in an M5 .

The problem is it's all relative, a trader would prob only give me ?9K trade in... if that. I then have to find the ?15-?20K for the M5 - so my thinking was I could tune the 545i for less and basically have something fairly simliar... ish...sort of.

My car is quick, but as with every car and bike I had, I get used to the power and then become restless... would I get used to the M5 though... I'd have to - there's not much else after that without being a playboy millionaire.

By the time SC is out M5's will be in that 27K to 32K area and they'll have a hard time getting HP guys to buy a (9k or whatever the cost is) SC for there 545 that is only worth 10K to 15K.

Should be cool to see though once its out.
