Why can't VF just come out with the thing? They are basically asking 20 members to invest their money to fund this project. When most people invest in something they expect to make money down the road. Are these 20 people going to make any money from the kits the VF sells? They why should they give their hard earned money for a company to use for the companies gains only. At the least these 20 people should get the kit AT COST. Unless VF does that they will be waiting for a long time.

I'm with you on this one. Why should I make the investment for them, why is VF not investing into there own products?

Hi Guys,

It takes a HUGE chunk of money to develp a system so that is why they are asking for 20 people...now if you are not comfortable with this then that is understandable and you can wait until it's out and pay then. If you want a refund back there would be no interest

I understand this. At the least the kit should be AT COST for the 20 initial investors. VF should not make a penny on them considering it was their money that allows VF to make a product that they can now profit from. What if VF never gets the thing to market and eats that $60K. What guarantee is there that the money will be refunded? In the past, several companies have been known to take peoples money and never do what they said and many people lost money. Why take that risk when in the end you are buying at most $3000 worth of parts for $7200. So it like, here take my money, use it to make something you can profit from and then sell me that thing at a profit. I think this is why you are having a hard time getting 20 people to invest $3000 each.

If you have a viable and healthy business you will not have to use your customers to fund development.
If you temporary are low on cash, for any reason, but still have a good liquidity and/or your business can show a solid financial trend the banks are usually nice to you

Still, I can understand the idea of not invest in something nobody wants!

But the argument about huge investments and therefore use the customers as bank does not sound as a viable company to me. (And is probably not the case)

Lets call it "Customer funded investment insurance" instead.
I would love to have that opportunity in my daily work

IF VF would like to have the first chunk of SC buyers they should hurry up (And talk to the bank if they need to ), ESS announce SC kit around the turn of the year. (Not confirmed though)

wow! That's amazing. So 2 months and 170 posts later, there are still only 2 buyers and no numbers.

That's a hard sell. I agree, they should post something from VF's own test car. Will that not be out until Feb 09?
