This is what the PRODUCTION MANAGER emailed me today:

I am expecting the prototype housing to come in early next week. Hopefully monday. Can we get the car in next week. I need to release the housing to production and it will take 3 weeks to production.

Also if you know anyone with the following vehicles for testing they will get a free intake:

745i
750i
mini cooper s turbo
mini cooper 2007-up
New M3

Any takers?

Okay, I'm ignorant. Don't know what AFE is, but from what I can tell on this post, it's a CAI.

Given that I'm not in CA (I'm in Minneapolis), is this something that I can install myself? Keep in mind, I am no techie/garage guy.

But if I can install it, and if it brings some ooomph, I'm all for it. Please let us know all of the details once you have them (i.e., price, installation, HP increase--all of it). Thanks!

there is a claim of 7hp and 10 lb ft torque from the other AFE intakes for the other e60s. the package also comes with a set of instructions. you can install it yourself or you can have a friend or a shop do it for you but you will have to pay for labor.

Thanks!

I'm in if it's not too expensive (~ $300).

edited my post above. I mixed up the hp and torque gains and thought I was in the AFE for the 545 thread. as for the AFE for the M54 engine, Im sure that it will be at about that price range or less like the others.
