Have any of you tried installng 275/35 19s on your car instead of the OE 275/30 19s? I'm thinking of doing this after seeing it done on another members 530 - just wondering about rubbing and/or other issues given the sports suspension on the 550i.

Appreciate any advice you guys and gals have.

(I searched but didn't come up with much other than the other member I was talking about above)

thanks!

Yes,
I was thinking for my next rear tires also, but going with 285/30/19
which will give you more width and a tad more height.
It must be close to 275/35...are you going to keep the fronts OEM? 245/35
I want to go coilover this summer but not sure how a 285 will
do on a lowered suspension?

Good luck, Alex

Thanks. Yeah, staying with the OE fronts at 245/35.

Hmmm, 285/30's aye? Do you have any pictures with the 275/35's on?

Brian, research Alpina B5 and you'll find that they use higher profile tires front and rear. I don't remember the exact sizes, but google and you'll find

I will be looking into the exact same thing when I replace tires. I would like to gain some sidewall to help give a little more rim protection but unless you change wheels its difficult to accomplish.

FWIW: I will probably go with the 285/30/R19 instead of the 275/35 because the 285/30 will be a closer match to the Overall Diameter of the stock front size and be a slight increase in sidewall height from the stock rear size of 275/30.

If anyone has any better ideas, I'm listening!

The 275/35/19 Will look like they are ready to eat up the 285/30 .

Bha7178,
I think with the regular offset and no spacers you will be fine with the 275/35's. Like I said, you might(might) have to roll your fenders because the increase in sidewall height will give the tire a roundish side wall, while this might call for fender rolling it will inturn protect your wheels against curb rash.
Plus assuming the fact that you drive either single or with one passenger most of the time you must be fine.

Once you do this 35 setup, you will say good bye to bending wheels- On the rear wheels atleast !
