Ok so its done. two nights of work and it was all worth it! It looks great!

First:

products used where:
-dupli color black caliper paint - spray can
-dupli color black caliper paint - brush kit
-dupli color caliper cleaner
-3m tape

Second:

i taped off the rotors for the most part and used the spray can to spray the hubs. I was scared of messing up the pads so i bagged off the calipers. I used the brush kit for calipers which made it so easy!! i didnt want to take off the calipers and bleed the brake system so this is why i used the brush kit.

third:
-brush and cleaning caliper kit from dupli color was 25 dollars after shipping
-spray can of dupli color kit was 7 dollars from autozone
-3m tape was laying around

When i did this i jacked up the front and rear one at a time. I only have 2 jack stands that fit under my e60. So i jacked up the back first and put the car on stands. Cleaned the calipers and hubs. Followed directions on the paint kits and went to town. Pretty easy mod and it looks great. Comments, concerns, suggestions are all welcome. If anyone needs any help and they are trying to do this, pm me im more than happy to help. Ordered my caliper kit from autobarn.com - Ive been getting stuff from them for the past month and love their website and service!

when you look at the pictures and see the black area that looks all grey and dull, thats the back of the pad. i didnt want to paint this and screw it up!

It's OK. Just use the brush and paint those spots. You just have to paint again when you replace the pads.

i dont want to get paint in the piston and mess up the entire caliper. if it was to drip off the back and just screw everything up i would be really sad. i dont want a 35 dollar diy painting project to turn into a replace the calipers and pay out the ass project! as you can see from this picture, my job is serving its purpose!! Lookin nice

i have seen thread were people just paint the hell out of everything and then i've seen people like drvlev say how its not good to do that so i listened to him. he pretty much steers me in the right direction when it comes to everything on my car. (helped with offsets, suspension questions, painting calipers, and one other thing i dont remember) So thanks to you Drlev!

The piston is on the other side of the rotor(when installed).
That pad does not event move, it's the whole caliper that moves.

I have to give you credit, Brett. When you first joined, your car looked like absolute shit, especially with all that chrome. After listening mainly to my wise advice, you now have one of the hottest AW E60's on this forum. Keep up the great work, especially the DIY's!
