There used to be a shop over by the train tracks near one of the Golf clubs on Dean near College street , kinda accross the street from Cici's pizza ( if it is still there near KMart and the mall).
APR used to work on things other than Audis and Vw's and behind there old shop on College street ( now out on Shugg Jordan towards the RTJ Glof trail) there was a performance tire place that mounted all there rims and tires. There was some BBQ place near by and the Mazda dealer too.... ( graduated in 03 the wife in 04 I know things have changed a TON since then)

No one seems to have 167's anymore. Are they M-types? Like 125's and the 184's?
Couldn't my stock ones either.

166 & 167 are both M types, also be aware you also have an ix , which means that the off set will be different than a normal 535...

3. If you get brave enough to go aftermarket I am a big fan of BBS wheels and run BBS LM's. I get tons of compliments, again tire rack can sort out all the details for you. They ship you the tires mounted and balanced with the wheels and if you can change a tire (I hope you can) you can install them yourself. There are other good wheels and companies but BBS also makes OEM wheels for BMW. Based on your concerns I think OEM best fits your needs but that's just my opinion.
4. Garry Romani at BMW of Newport is a good source for OEM parts. I have used him with good results. You can have wheels shipped to your house, order tires from tirerack, have them drop shipped to NTB, bring your new wheels over and have them installed.
A nice set of properly matched wheels with high quality non run flat tires is an awesome modification that improves your cars handling and completely changes the look of the car. I took my son for a college visit today and the cop directing traffic said nice car!!! My car is stock except for my BBS LM staggered wheels. The rears are 10 inches wide with a nice polished lip and people just love em.
Finally and most important, prepare to spend a decent amount of money for quality wheels and quality tires. Do it right or don't bother, the wrong wheels and/or crappy tires really do screw up the car (don't ask me how I know...)
Upgrading wheels and tires can take some research and effort... but that's half the fun

Yeah, I figured it would cost a lot. Finding that money lying around as a student is gonna be another challenge. So is there another chart to find out what OEMs will fit on an xi, or would I have to go straight to the dealer and ask?
