Default Bruce cables vs. new light module??

Hey guys,

My girlfriend got me as my birth day gift rear lci light for my e60 530xi 2007.
They looked beautiful compare to my old light but the only problem is that my current light module doesn't support it. I wanted to know what will be better in the long run Bruce cables or new light module 2 . I only change the back light not the front ones . I also got an offer for a refurbish module that will work for my rear lci light for $430 or do ya think refurbish product is not a good idea??

Upgrading to new LM2 is not just simply plug-'n-play it has to be coded and the degree of complexity goes up when the module has been in use before. You also have to run additional wires from the LM2 to the LCI tail lights.

If you want to simply use the tail lights the easiest way is to use Bruce cables 'cuz you can not just simply use either just the tail (or head) lights w/o the other end.

There are ways to utilize the LCI lights ... the proper (OEM conversion) way or the hack (by using things like Bruce cables etc) way.

Thanks for the taking the time to write reply.

I left some info out. The wire and the lights are already done. The person that is selling the refurbished module is also going to do the programming . So my option are (1. Bruce cable) (2. Refurbish module and program for $430.00). ( 3. New module for 350 + 150 for the coding) . Which one you think is the better choice. All the cable are ran to my current module already.

AFAIK it'll not work w/o the headlights ... I've done the hacked way before the full conversion and had so much trouble.

What build is your '07? Mine already came w/ LM2 ...

Hi

In order to be prepered for a Headlight upgrade at a later point , you should go for the LMA2 solution !
