As some of you may know i've recently installed a set of angel eyes in my E60 which has halagon headlights. Seeing as though i had so many PM's about it i had an extra 50 sets custom made. There is nothing out there bright enough for Halagon Headlamps, so i would check out the link below for more info and pics.....

Good find Johal.

I would have been interested but looks like LCI conversion is set to work.

I hear your selling your car. How comes?

Cool, no probs! Im not 100% on selling it yet....maybe in a few months. I always like to change my cars after a year or so. Need something new to mod now!

No offense but if you're already opening the lights to put the CCFL in, why not put the LED Orion V2 in - this way you don't have cold start issues, you don't use the crappy ballasts/inverters that CCFL come with, and you don't have to worry about a ring failing in the future.

These CCFL kits are pretty cheap right from China now for $20, there's a reason they aren't really that popular any longer.

To be honest, Orion V2's are really made for Xenon headlights. A friend of mine installed it on his halagon and they just do not sit right as the ring size is not exact. You can't actually get CCFL angel eyes for halagon headlights and please do send me the link of these 'Cheap £20 kits' you say you've seen. As a lot of people on this forum will tell you, there is nothing available for halagon angel eye upgrades appart from LED 501 bulbs which don't make much difference. Also my product is more affordable then the Orion V2's and no you don't need to change these every year. I've had ccfl angel eyes in my 3 series for 2 and half years with a lot of usage and they are perfectly fine.

With all due respect i know your promoting your product (Orion V2's) which is a awesome kit , but i've put a lot of research into this and contacted a lot of BMW specialists who sell modified products before producing these and they are very interested in my kit. Just thought i'd give a heads up to the forum members before selling to them. Anyway thanks for giving me a great start!

We've been in the angel eyes business for over 8 years, not to sound arrogant but there is no technology we haven't seen or had copied that we introduced.

We introduced CCFLs back in 2003 and they were "the best" back then, but now, they are no longer useful especially when dealing with the cutting or baking of lights off a 5 series.

By $20, I mean, the cheaper Chinese kits with offset ring sizes are very inexpensive and yes, Orion V2 are available for the Halogen, we have a larger ring than the standard application that fits the Halogen just fine.

I'm not pooping your product or your sales, I'm just not sure you want to do it using CCFL.

Johal: Obviously I am a fan of Orion v2s, but to share facts though, CCFL's do have some characteristics that are rather undesirable for how much work is involved to getting the headlight open and reseal. To start, it has cold-start issues, it's fragile to install, they change color over time (have heard of plenty white turning into pink), or blow out entirely.

Add to that, they're also known for ballast failures, and if the installer messes up the connector polarity during install, the whole kit will short, etc.

I mean, if there's a level of guarantee that your kit can provide, it would be no problem. However, I personally think that it's simply the issues with the technology, that's why it shifted to LEDs.

To be honest you would have to open up the headlight regardless if you want bright rings such as these or the Orion V2's. I wouldn't say they were fragile to install either. I'm not a proffessional and never messed with electrics before in my life, but i found these so easy and straight forward to install. I went through a lot of different manufacturers to get the right ones and the quality is real good. Mine have been installed for 6 months now and 5 months on my brothers E60 and no problems on either car so far. I've sold a few kits already on my first day here in the U.K so maybe i'll have better luck here.
There are some real cheap kits out there that won't last long but this kit is great quality. Anyway can i get on with selling these now please guys.......Thanks

Carry on...but Simon is right, he doesn't even have as much experience as we do, but he's right. CCFL are great for about 1 year, usually even 2, then the 2-3 cold stretches they go through damages the insides, this isn't a "quality" vs "non-quality" issue, it's a bad CCFL limitation that becomes more and more pronounced after 2 cold seasons...something we ourselves could not have predicted when we first introduced CCFL in 2003.

Good luck though.

Wait, I'm confused.. So Johal, how did you get your's installed? Did you not have to open your headlights? was there some other way? Just wondering... I dont think I saw the method of installation.

Nevermind. I saw your posting that you have to take apart the headlight. Carry on.
