Brand of spark plug - Does it matter?
I'm coming up on my 100,000 mile service and I know a change of spark plugs will be in order.
What is the consensus on brand? Who makes the OEMs? Is there really a difference between one over the other?
It's been years since I've had to worry about plugs, since I hardly service my own vehicle any more. Just curious if there is something I should know. Thanks.

My Ride: 2001 BMW 530i
I changed my valve cover gasket and put new Autolite double platinum plugs in,, and when I said that in another forum,. people there spazzed out because I didn't use NGK... extremely touchy and anal BMW people... why people so damned touchy, what do they care?? anyways,,, it's running great.... I removed the other plugs because I went through so much trouble to replace the laky valve cover gasket , it was a good time to replace the 4 electrode NGK plugs, that I had no clue how many mile were on because I bought the car used, a few months ago. It was running really good, but now I know they are new.

My '04 530i is about to hit its 100K marker too... it's been blinking at me for weeks. I bought these off Amazon:
For $36, using the right tools, the DIY, and a free afternoon, you can't go wrong with Bosch! I was able to reset the iDrive and visit the local DQ without any problems. I know the tools cost a fortune, but I'm happy to never be under the thumb of a dealership and their $400+ invoices again.
