Hi gang,

I have an 05 545i that is waiting for spring and its new shoes... BBS LM's staggered with Pirelli P Zero Nero's

Anyone have suggestions on brake rotors? I would like something cross drilled or slotted to add a more performance look but also am very interested in lighter than stock rotors. I have experienced the affects of reduced un-sprung weight and I am a convert. Huge improvement in the way a BMW drives with reduced un-sprung weight.

Thanks...

I'm not sure if the they're lighter than stock but I know that Stoptech has some slotted rotors for the 545i.

I just purchased a set of Stop Tech cross drilled rotors and new pads (supposedly much less brake dust). I purchased everything through Zechausen Racing (zechausen.com). The stuff arrived last week. The non-swept areas of the rotors (i.e. the caps, edges and vanes) are all painted black to resist rust. I'm going to install everything in the spring when I throw the summer wheels/tires on.

Thanks guys...

My research is leading to Zechausen Racing as well. Plus I am familiar with Stoptech products.

hehe...zeckhausen does slotted/drilled front & rear for my 545i for less than $500 - unbelievable !! I was about to order and then I calculated the shipping costs

>> $480 and obviously cancelled...

you guys in the US are so lucky when it comes to mods - anyone know a ground fowarder (by sea) who could consolidate these discs to Europe ??

Andy, if you want stopping power you have to get new calipers with more than 1 pot .
With drilled rotors you will have less fading, but only a little more stopping power .

I ordered slotted and drilled rotors for the Mini, plus pulley, filter etc. The shipment was very very expensive indeed .
But those rotors are very nice :
