So I had my Brembo's put in a couple thousand miles ago. Today the E60 is saying service is necessary for brake fluid. Anyone who knows more about brakes than me (and I know zilch) answer these questions for me:
1. Can I safely ignore the service warning for now since my brakes are so much newer than the OEM brakes (my car has about 17k miles on it)? The warning SEEMS like a timed warning, not based off a sensor reading.
2. How do I check when I actually do have to service the brake fluid on the Brembos? Will the manual for the brakes tell me?

The brake fluid warning may not have anything to do with the brake pads. it may be a regular service warning. I believe BMW recommends a fluid change at certain intervals. I think it is listed in the manual. Also could just be that the fluid level is low. When they installed the Brembo hardware, they could have "bled" the system and never replaced the lost fluid.
