Sup guys,
I met up with Ed on Wednesday morning to check out his custom Borla quad exhaust setup on his '04 530i. I put together a lil' video so you guys can hear what it sounds like. The clips included are: idle revving, take off & drive by, inside (windows down) and inside (windows up). It's a deep exhaust note and sounds similar to the Remus, but more tame. I really like it. Anyway, check it out!
And here's what it looks like underneath. I apologize for the half-assed stitch job.

My question comes for having a 550 that I want a quad on and I can't get Hamann to sell me one to save my life. For some reason they will just not respond when I'm ready to get one now, so I'm looking at other vendors and this one is the first I see other than the Hamann - which by the way is pretty awesome. Pic attached.
Also, what's an X pipe?
Thanks!
Santiago.

santi^ there arent many manufacturerers that make true dual muffler setups for the 545,530.. RDS, and maybe one other. This setup is using two mufflers (universal) and having custom piping. The one you pictured has a dummy onthe right side.Youre better getting the Racing dynamics which is probably the same or near the Hamann price . I believe alot of tuner shops have easy access to RDS: Carlab, Eurorev to name a few. O and the X pipe prevents loss of low end torque since the mufflers are straight thru. also prevents high pitched raspiness I was told.

About $550 = labor, tips, x pipe ,both mufflers and new piping.
you can notice the difference between your and mine as the mufflers act as a limiter on its sound...However I both like and dislike that fact as I like how much louder and deeper mine sounds but I do like how yours has a much cleaner ring to it

The Eisenmann was really bogus.
I'm enclosing a picture of the Hamann from the side and you can see the right pair where it originates at the muffler and the Eisenmann where the right side doesn't even connect to the tips. It looks nice and clean, but if you zoom in, the right side shows the tips just welded to the flat plate and are not connected to the actual pipe.

It is driving me nuts ?cause I want a quad on my car. I was at the factory (Hamann) near Stuttgart and they could never quote me a price ? it was always ?just bring the car and we?ll take care of you?? Yeah, 7 thousand dollars later I?d maybe have a quad system.
I?ll drop them another note and see. If they ignore me, I?ll live without it then. Do something else ? like M6 wheels.
Regards,
Santiago.

Just curious, I notice your right muffler is tilted, is that okay? how did they mount it securely and does it stick out?
