Exactly... anything out of the ordinary people will think you're too anal and screw you over. Thats why even when I park I try to park far away but inconspicuously... try to pick the correct spot and distance away... its a tough game... too many @$$e$ out there...
yes sir I agree ..
When ever I go downtown or to a mall I always park far away from the door dinging morons...
My gf had to ask me why and bitched a few times , then I showed her the doors on her altima ( since girls dont notice that stuff ) and she understood my reasoning.
door dings ftl!

Drop your chick off at the front door and meet her inside as you park in another county. My wife loves it when we take the XI, I pull her up to the front door of the mall and make my way to the ideal spot.

now im teaching her to close the door by the handle and not the window molding in between the passenger and rear passenger door , I hate when finger grease marks are left on that.

Gents...take it easy. Hahahaha! The bumperpads are made strictly to use in a garage where they have parking attendants, not on the street or in a self park garage. Maybe this is only the case in NYC, since lots of cars are backed up, right on top of each other. Front and Rear dings are inevitable. In fact, most NYC garages use these pads for their customers cars. Since you don't get to park you car, it's an extra precaution. I used these on my E39 when I would drive to the city and visit my mom's pad in Manhattan. She had a garage and half the customers in the garage had these on their car. It worked perfectly. Nobody is going to key your car and the clips fit perfect on the side, so there won't be any dings. You guys are so funny! Hhahahaha! Don't be so worried.
Oh, and Rudy...The pad has a "sticky" material in certain sections where it rests on the car, so it won't slip. Therefore, no scratching. Trust me...I'm the most anal person and always do Jet Black. If these things would slide off and scratch, I wouldn't use them.
However, I must admit that I do not drive my E60 in the city anymore. Only my truck. It's not really fear of the garage, but more fear of the crappy streets in Manhattan.
