You'd better get L7 or you'll regret for not getting it and wants to upgrade your sound system.
Upgrading std sound system is a nightmare. I did it no my 530i, but it's awfully pain.

was it difficult to replace the subs? do i need to remove the seats at all, also how much did the whole tihng cost you?
Personally I find that its rather hard to get the wire running from front to back if you swap out the underseat subs. I would reali recommend just adding a seal box in the trunk, that way its a lot simpler to wire and you add two more subs to your system (not a big deal tho). I find it reali hard to get the wire from under the seat and into the trunk cleanly without having the wire show a bit. But I admit that putting the sub under the seat will sound a bit better, because the 5er have a reali good sound proof trunk.

do you think i need an amp? because when installing the subs, there shouldnt be much wiring at all, dont i just plug the positive and negative wires to the prongs on the back of the sub??? ive changed my home theater floorstandings woofers before, im assuming its the same way.... this is of course without getting a new amp......

SWS-8 is about $169 to $189 (I don't really remember) each, and 6-ch Infinity amp is around $350. Labor was free (me). Wiring is about $50.
You don't have to remove front seat. Just loosen all four screws and tint it toward the back.

one of these specialist guys from bavarian soundwerks tells me that the seat needs to be removed to access the subwoofers, he also said "there is NOTHING in the aftermarket that will fit the bmw bolt pattern" so now im all confused, please help me out, haha.

Of course the bavarian soundwerks guy wants to sell you his stuffs. A couple members here including me has already install SWS-8 on their cars.
Like I said, I installed on mine on my previous 530i. Do a search for SWS-8 and you'll be clear.

also, where did u mount ur amp? i do not want to spend more than 500 bucks on the entire system, i will probably get an amp from BSW which costs about $220 and it pushes about 100 watts out to each of the subs... what do you think? u seem to have the most expierence in this field haha.... your help is greatly appreciated

I know iceman316 put a 10 inch JL W7 in his trunk, and even when it's sealed(the trunk) it sounds pretty damn good.
