so your saying that switching the stock subs to sws 8 subs will solve the problem of lack of bass?

OK well all know that we love our bmw 5 series very much, and those of us who are not fortunate to have the logic 7 soundsystem all know that bass response in our bmws SUCK.... some of you dudes out there have some complicated ways of getting the subwoofers underneath the seat to pump out more bass, but thats just too.... complicated... can anyone help me get MORE BASS in my bmw cabin.... please feel free to email me at acebmw5@yahoo.com

with a 200-300W amp will solve lack-of-bass problem. I did it on my previous E60 and some members from SoCal meet said that "no wonder it sounds good"

I have the Hi-Fi package in the UK which is the std package in the US. This comes with an extra amp and 2 subwoofers under the seat. True the bass is quite weak. I have a fairly simple solution which works for me. I move the fader a lot towards the back seats and crank up the volume. Because I rarely carry passengers in the back this extra volume increases the bass without too high a volume on the front speakers blowing in my ears.

did u connect tihs amp to your STOCK underseat subs? or did u buy a pair of those new "sws 8" subs.... heres the link to the ones pioneer makes, let me know if u think changing my stock subs to these would make a difference.... http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/p...7969765,00.html

I replaced my sub with sws-8, and power them with Infinity 6-ch amp.
I was thinking about pioneer, but does it have the same base fitting to the current base? Probably not.

SWS-8 is about $169 to $189 (I don't really remember) each, and 6-ch Infinity amp is around $350. Labor was free (me). Wiring is about $50.
You don't have to remove front seat. Just loosen all four screws and tint it toward the back.

Does the L7 sound system have this issue? I'm thinking of upgrading my 530 to 550 soon, and I'm wondering if getting the L7 system is worthwhile.
