Up in Canada because of the cold winters, my dealership sells and installs a unit that always stays in the vehicle and they run the cord to the front bumper similar to a block heater. When you plug it in it trickle charges the battery to ensure that the battery has enough juice to start up your vehicle on those cold mornings, this could work the same way in terms of keeping your car charged when not in use.
