I've been searching the web just out of curiosity and I am wondering why BMW only makes factory performance parts for the smaller 3 and 1 series cars. I can understand not making these parts for the 7 series as it is a luxury only automobile. If I am not mistaken the 5 series is a sport/luxury auto and in recent years with the E60 chassis they are pushing more of the sport than the luxury side of the car. Does anyone have any ideas as to why they don't make BMW performance parts for E60's such as brake kits, steering wheels, strut braces, etc.

I am sure there are many E60 owners who would prefer to buy BMW made performance parts.....

Anyone agree?

I don't think BMW made any performance parts for the 5/7 because no a "big" market for it.

The 3 was originally created as a sports car and is the bread and butter series for BMW. So it's no surprise that BMW carries performance products for them. The 5 series, on the other hand, is more luxury than sporty and there also isn't really a market for them (at least not OEM).
