Found this on e90 posts..

"BMW has just issued a press release during the Geneva show that the BMW Performance division will release a tune for the x35i engine. 326 hp (crank) instead of 306, 450 nm torque (crank; 430 for manual transmissions) instead of the stock 400. Apparently an additional water cooler along with a more powerful fan will be added, in addition to the reprogramming of the ECU. No pricing information released yet. Availability from March 2009. "

So what ever happened with the BMW Performance Power Kit for the 535 series? I asked the local dealer about it last week and they were unaware of a factory upgrade to the N54 engine. They told me I should look into the Dinan upgrade. I read that BMW was no longer partnered with Dinan... Does anyone know anything about a BMW engine upgrade?

Thanks!

AFAIK, the BMW performance kit/upgrades are only available for the 335 and 135, but definitely not the 535i...(as stated in the quote in my OP)

not surprised your dealer was unaware of any kit....the only members I've actually read of having this kit are e90 members outside of the US....

here's e90posts member cstavaru's review of the kit (yes he is running it in his 335i):

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5760596

Go with ESS or GIAC flash if you are looking to increase your performance and still maintain your warranty, as flashes work within the parameters of your engine and does not "trick" your engine like piggybacks do...so the risk of throwing tuner/manip codes is far less with a flash than a pb. But even the pb's are very good and staying undetectable, and a BT can be pruchased as well to delete codes if you want to go that far....

both flashes are better priced and produce better gains over Dinan...
