Dear e60 Forum:

I am interest in purchasing a BMW OEM SMG shifter and light kit so it will work on my Steptronic tranny. So far I found the SMG shifter for 185.00 FREE S&H (CLICK BELOW), but I cant find the entire kit, (Plug and Play wiring)

Has anybody here got a better price on the SMG shifter and Wiring kit?

Thanks in Advance!!

============

Hey mikeg3tsguap,

Cool, and I too would like to do the same thing to my steptronic, (change out my stock e60 steptronic console and Steptronic knob and its indicator lights to the SMG knob its own indicator lights, and console components, and they work properly with the Steptonic transmission) but I heard from another forum and don't know how true it is, (maybe someone here at e60 forum has already done the Steptronic to SMG Sifter change to the e60 SMG Console knob and to a "Plug N Play" wiring to our Steptronic can advise us how much it cost, what's all involved, and how hard is it to change over to the SMG knob and it lights, SMG console plate and boot piece, etc ), but they told me a steptronic will require a different long throw shifter lever, to the short throw SMG Shift lever to be able to work and look right using ALL SMG parts including the SMG boot that come on the SMG knob that most cut off and stitch to their steptronic boot, and end up having two sets of transmission position indicator lights, which does look to be a little much, but of course I am told that attention is paid mainly to the SMG knob, and its cool lights by others most of the time, and they think is came that way. (but like most I think is does look a little odd using two set of lights).

Thanks in advance!!!
