It was on my car when I bought it the guy said it was a warranty issue I took it to BMW and they checked the error code and it turns out it was my bat cable too but some one told me sometimes they come up for low voltage or removing the bat so I cleared it with inpa and i never saw it again its been a full year since

you can disable the seat mat sensor, some folks at e90post did. if you wondering about whether the airbag deploys. a member who disabled it was involved in an accident and said the airbag still deployed. don't quote me on this, im just relaying information i had read.

the seat mat sensor can also be purchased by itself without the cushion at a much lower cost. many dealers will sell the one with the mat already installed on the cushion to prevent improper installation on the current cushion, as it involves removing old sensor and repinning in the new one. here's the link for just the sensor alone.

hope that helps!

I am sorry I don't have pictures, i was working on a day which was 104 degrees with no A/c in my garage. Sweating so bad that I cant tell you.

Anyway,

After you do what you have to do by replacing the sensor, its not going to fix anything on the message part. The message will still show up
You will need to clear the codes and after a ton of research I found the Magic to Work it !

To do this I used 2 things

1. BMWHAT
2. http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/car...FUlN4AodTwq3Cw

Its a LOT of WORK so get ready to have hours and hours dedicated for this job

Well for me, the Passenger restraint warning clears itself every time, until someone sits in the passenger seat again and then it stays on for a few days until it clears itself again. What mostly concerns me is getting the old sensor out and then replacing it, did you have any instructions, or did you just pull out the chair (easy), Then get the cushions off, that's what I ponder about. Then put in the new cushion, etc. etc...
