Where i study in the u.k there seems to be many bmw dismantlers which sell parts......for example a shadow line kit for the e60 will only cost around $100?.....however some cars which are seen to be dismantled seem to be in good condition? why would they break them for parts? im not sure if theres water damage....etc.....however im considering buying some parts such as M5 parts such as spoilers, Brakes? headliners?.....is there any disadvantage in buying parts such as these......anyone with some expereince pls chime in!

Thank you

I don't see anything wrong with buying used parts in terms of spoilers and headliners etc. I personally would not buy used brakes, calipers yes pads and rotors no. Cosmetic stuff I don't see why not, mechanical I would be careful buying not to say don't do it but use good judgement on the condition of the part and price you are paying.

Where do you study? Any chance of naming some of the breakers? It would be good to know where to get cheap parts.

Thanks
