I'm looking into this filter, but can someone explain what it will do for me?

You won't ever have to buy another air filter, just wash it and drop it back in. Some dynos have been done to show minimal gains, but don't count on it IMO

You should do the filter, remove that extra carbon filter (if yours has it) and add the RPI ram air scoop. All those things together actually make a noticeable difference.
I have a k&n filter though.. should perform just as well
