Well thought Id post my experience. so my suspension set-up was the eibach pro-kit with the stock non-sport shocks. it's been about 25k miles with them and on the way to and from MFEST about a little over a week ago I did notice the ride being more bouncy. went ahead and ordered with Joe (r1racer) the Bilstein sport shocks for my e60. had them installed and turns out the stock shocks were not completely gone but were almost there and was a good time to change them out. what a difference. I honestly couldnt tell too much of a change from riding in Joe's car (H&R sport springs and Bilstein sport shocks) but once driving my own car, I understood his point of view as well as the other members that strongly suggest getting aftermarket shocks even with a drop with springs that are not as dramatic as the drop with H&R race springs. I would strongly recommend the same now. big thanks again to Joe. I have to agree that I love that rebound with the road feel putting the "sport" in "sport sedan". the suspension feels stiffer all in all with less body roll on the turns, and I just fell in love with driving my e60 all over again.

here's our original thread for springs and coilovers in the classifieds section

Ya man, I did the same thing and swapped the stock shocks for the Koni sport shocks when I went to H&R sport springs and I'm very glad I did.

It does make a huge difference! A lot still dont do it cause of the money, cost of struts. My response , save and do it right! because the smile you get taking corner is well worth it!

Sorry nerweezy, but call joe up again and price out some swaybars
