I painted my own... They came out great and it was very rewarding after I finished.

I'd be worried about fitment issue. Contact Nerweezy/Trinity Autosport. The item has a good price but see how much they're charging you for shipping. ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)

My Ride: Black Sapphire

Ah great advice guys...
especially that whole sticking out issue...it was in the back of my mind but i didn't actually think it could be an issue...
i think i've been convinced to remove and paint them...ought to be fun...i still have some black spray left from my trim job...
the only thing i'm worried about is that my car is Black Sapphire ... anybody know if this would look odd? like clashing black?
my slats are already black...so i'd only have to paint the outer trim...i was actually thinking of doing the outer part black and leaving the inside lip chrome

DON'T BUY THEM!
I bought the same pair a few weeks back and they did not fit!
They are far from OEM quality as well.
I ended up contacting Trinity and buying matte black grills which fit perfectly and were far better quality.

I got the matte black a couple of weeks ago for my new 550i with M Package.
It was quite boring and a little cheap looking for my Carbon Black car.
I always identify the difference between a 3-series and 5-series by the grill. The Matte Black grill makes my 5-series look like a 3-series.
I am going with the carbon black fiber. It may cost more like $200, but it is worth it for my little guy.
