PM quad_m regarding pss9.

IMO, the best coilovers is the KW variant 2 or the HR Coilovers.

HR Coilover = Inexpensive and only height adjustable. (HR are the 1st people who invented and copyrighted the coilover system)
KW Variant 2 = Expensive, height, and dampening adjustable. It is also encased in stainless steal so they are less likely to rust.

KW is overkill for my needs.

I hope they've revised it - I bought a PSS9 kit for my 535d back in July 2005, and the front springs were too short, although I complained to Bilstein they ignored my repeated attempts for a resolution. When a suspension is hitting off the bump stops all the time, its not doing its job, and despite numerous suspension experts looking at it everyone agreed the front springs were too short.

I'm bitter about it because Bilstein wouldn't do anything about it, nor acknowledge the problem. They said they'd look into it when I first advised them, so hopefully they did do something about it.

btw you'd only really notice this with spirited driving or on track, street use is fine. Apart from my gripes above, I loved the PSS9 otherwise.

Yea, I haven't heard any positives about PSS9, but I only think thats because they are hard to find. Not many people on the board are running with pss9. The majority of us are running hr or kw.

or go for the full monty by using KW variant III. Height adjustable, adjustable damping and adjustable rebound. Another few hundred on top of Var II

Overkill! More function, more likely to break. Just my opinion.

Just get springs. $250 sounds like a bargain right now.
