Has anyone fitted a bike rack (for push bikes) to the boot of their 5 series sport ??
the universal type you can buy from anywhere like argos or halfords.
Or, does anyone have a roof mountable one i could buy (if you no longer need it) or hire (i only need it from 15-21 december)
Need to bring two push bikes on hols with me !
Any information or suggestions accepted !!
Thanks
Alex.

Where are you Alex? I use the BMW roof mount system for my bikes and it fits like a glove. High quality and very aerodynamic.

Those trunk/boot mounted racks can scratch or scuff the paint, be careful of all the contact points, do you have access to a factory style roof rack.... much harder to install but way less chance of damage.....good luck !

Page 109 shows you where the mount points are for a roof rack. I wouldn't use a trunk mount. It will damage your paint most likely.

Hi Guys, thanks for the replys so far,
I'm based in Manchester , UK.
I used to do paintwork, so can polish the scratches out, or use some precaution when mounting it to prevent scratches etc....
But i guess it might be worth just using a different car to go away in (to scotland) and leave the E60 at home. although i'd rather use the E60 after having only just bought it.
