I been getting a few messages about the LCI retrofit conversion from Bi-Xenon Pre-LCI w/ adaptive to Xenon LCI w/ adaptive ... if you go down to post #124 on this PAGE member rootkit has bascially all the information you need ...
What you need for the retrofit? prices are from getbmwparts.com and the cost if you bought them brand new 3/17/2011
1 Retrofit Cable Set [ 61 12 0 432 110 ] $28.43
1 Light Module [ 61 35 9 203 082 ] $$379.20
(Needed for cars before 9/2006; and has to be UNCODED cannot buy used)
2 AHL Headlights
- Left [ 63 12 7 045 695 ] US $900.31
- Right [ 63 12 7 045 696 ] US $900.31
(I seen them on ebay for $400-$600 for both, so you might want to look there)
2 LCI Taillights
(You guys basically know about these lights already and the prices they range from)
I USED THESE COMPONENTS FROM MY BI-XENON HEADLIGHTS
2 Xenon Bulbs D1S w/ Ignition Element [63217217509] $190.63
(Needed for cars before 1/17/2005)
2 Lamp Holders "ring clips" [ 63 11 7 162 087 ] $6.05
(Needed for cars before 1/17/2005--to hold xenon bulb in housing)
2 Control Unit Xenon Light "ballast" [ 63 12 6 937 223 ] $362.06
(Needed for cars before 1/17/2005--for D1S Xenon bulb)
2 Electronics box ALC (uncoded) [ 63 12 7 189 312 ] $117.92
(adaptive light control, "motor/actuator")
After you get all the necessary parts then have to get the retrofit cables run and get the lights programmed .. I suggest go to an indie shop your comfortable with and let them program the lights for you to save yourself some money .. I paid $400 (that price included the labor, the retrofit cables, the updated software to the 2008 version, and of course the programming of the lights) ... this mod cost me around $1800 including everything and I think it is well worth every penny
love the updated look, made the hid angel eyes possible, angel wings in the taillights, and of course no more ugly reflector

I'm about to do mine also just waiting for LCM. $400 for labor/programming is the greatest deal i've seen for the conversion geeeze. I was quoted $500-800 labor and programming.

Thats WONDERFUL man, I always wanted to do that MOD, I am sure your loving every bit of it 
But with all due respect, I have seen the LCI HID Angel eye lights on cars and may I say, the Orions are better.

2 things about the ORIONS
1. They never FLUSH - Walk up like 60 feet from your car with those LCI angel lights ON and you will know what I am talking about
2. They are Uniform Bright -- Look at your LCI rings, Your smaller ring is brighter than your larger ring
However, someday I would like to do the LCI lights
But with all due respect, I have seen the LCI HID Angel eye lights on cars and may I say, the Orions are better.

Same here ... sorry ... but I'm rather confused on your question 
...
But basically as OP stated he upgraded his headlights from the older pre-LCI (model up to '07) to the newer LCI (model from '08) model.

I wish I could take a picture but the glare is horrible .. I do agree with you the orion v2 are nice cause it makes the halos the same brightest like the new bmw models but the leds alone are $250 (which is more than the hid angel eyes from John@motorcepts that's where I got it from) plus the cost of labor which is I believe another $250 lol I think I saw a post of the outside rings of the hid angel eyes being the same brightest of the orion v2s, so in a sense they are the brightest in the market but might be too bright for some people ... but Good Luck it is definitely one of the top mods to have done you won't regret it
