My Ride: 2005 E60 530i Steptronic Mystic Blue No mods yet...
Default

Hi!
I'm a new member, and I live in New Zealand. (I'm Korean though)
I drive a 530i E60 2005 model with no mods yet.
I want to get my stock 17s replaced by aftermarket 19s.

I went over some brochures and found:

- Beyern Mesh Type 19s.
- Ruotecompany Replica Stye #166 (M5) 19s.

They were both about $4500 NZD (roughly about $3000 US?) including the tires.
(GoodYear GS-D3)

Which one would you guys go for??
and could you also please recommend any good tires for me?

Thanks!

Both wheels look good, but I put the chrome Beyern Mesh Type on my 5. They're 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear. Sorry, no pics yet though.....If you like a lip on your wheels, then the Beyerns will give it to you. The fronts have about 1 1/2 inch lip and the rears have a 3+ inch lip. Looks sweet to me.....If you do go for the Beyerns, get 15mm offset on front and rear wheels. Plus make sure when they order the wheels you get the wheels with a center bore of 72mm. The last four digits of the part number will be "cb72" on each size wheel. Beyern makes both 72mm and 74mm center bore wheels. If you just happen to get the 74mm cb wheels, you'll have to get hub rings too.....Good luck with your choice!!!.....

I'd really appreciate if you could send me a pic of your ride by e-mail to me someday! It will definitely help

Go for the beyerns.....the lip will make your car seem more aggressive. Besides, its not OEm M5 rims its a replica and although I have no experience with replicas I do not think they are as good as OEM.

I prefer the M5 replicas Its full extended spokes will makes the wheels looks bigger than 19s

I'd go for the 166's as I prefer OEM. The Bayerns look a bit Autojumble IMHO plus they curve inwards from the centre rather than outwards like a big wheel should.

Thanks for your replies guys!
No doubt that the #166s look better.
But I'm just worried about the quality since they're replicas not BBS OEMs...
Do any of you guys know the company Ruotecompany Replica? I went into their site which is under construction, and it said the company's based in Italy...

I found this store on ebay called ABI Wheels, and they also sell Replica Stye #166 (M5) 19s and 20" wheels. The company is based in Australia, but the wheels are made by some Italian company.

If you like the 166M's, which I am partial too, why not go for the OEM. The cost would be about the same.

The only problem I find on the OEM is that the offset of the front sticks it out a little farther than I like. However, I have had comments from many people that it looks perfect for the car.
