Best spark plugs?
#11
eh... spark plugs don't usually go bad in one year of daily driving duty. like i said, both bosch and NGK are OEM plugs, so buy what you're comfortable with. the "bosch is crap/awesome" argument has been all over the internet for many many years with supporting evidence for both sides. my thought is that it is a product of bosch's quality control (or perhaps lack thereof), and it's something i'd rather not deal with when the difference is just a couple of dollars.

I change my every year to get the full performance out of the engine and the engine runs much smoother too.

I replaced recently with OE NGK platinums. The bmw OE plugs can be either the NGK or the Bosch they both made OE plugs and both these plugs are very good. They sell for about $15-$20 here in Canada, so I had a fellow member who was nice enough to buy them from autozone in the US for $4.50 a plug and ship them to me. I installed them myself which is also quite simple.

These are the ones that I needed (NGK BKR6EQUP) I'm pretty sure he went to autozone but I can't remember for sure. They ended up costing me less than $10 each shipped to Canada.

I'm sure NGK or Bosch are both good.
So I take it, the spark plugs (NGK and Bosch) from the dealers have correct gap and is plug and pray? What about the ones bought elsewhere, do we have to modify the gaps?
Also, the NGK is already specially coated so no need to lubricate the threads with oil?

Always check for correct gap measurement...
