Best interior leather for Saph Black?
#1
Alright, I've been trying to decide which path to go. Everytime I thought I was sure on a choice, I got easily shifted by pictures of the other options.
I got sapphire black with black interior now. So I can pull off saddle brown or coral red easily.
My seats are due for retrim and I got kinda bored with all black interior, as I've had the same for my previous two rides too.
I won't be considering natural brown, cuz it's just too light for my taste.
I've been looking through different older threads and still getting mixed opinions, so let me just official revive the topic to obtain what peeps are feeling nowadays.
Some thoughts to build on:
Saddle brown:
(+) Classy, elegant, luxury
(-) Old, middle age, boring
Coral red:
(+) Sporty, radical, fresh, edgy
(-) will i get sick of it one day? too much red on a full size sedan? (I know it's usually best on coupes)
Black with red stiching:
I dunno, i just threw this one in for fun.

I loved the "Natural Brown" Leather in my previous 525d LCI M-Sport. The colour combo was as follows:
- Outside: Carbon Black
- Inside: Leather Dakota Natural Brown
- Trim: High-Gloss Black
I think the Coral Red works well on something like a 1er or 3er M-Sport Coupe / Cabrio, but its maybe a little too "sports car" for a 5er. Like you wrote, it gives you something special, but may give you problems when you come to sell it, whereas Saddle Brown is still quite a popular "alternative" colour.
You should also consider some of the BMW Individual "Leather Merino" colours, such as Platin. Check out some of the M5s on the web to see what you can find.
Here are some pictures of my previous 525d M-Sport. They were taken under poor lighting, so the Carbon Black paint looks more black and closer to your car's colour. I know you prefer the darker Saddle Brown colour, but it maybe helps you visualise the kind of look you are going for.

Hmm, the vote is leaning towards the least expected angle, hehe.
I got black CF fabric wrap on my trims too.
So I'm curious about what contrast I can bring to the car now.
Here are some visual aids
Saddle
Coral
Black w/ red stitch (on Aston)

If you're going with the "sporty look" for your new 5 my vote was the black with red stitching. For the luxo look the saddle is 'traditional'.
The red, IMHO, is best suited to a sporting coupe like a 3'er / 6'er than the 5.

My Ride: 2006 530xi (Titanium Grey/ Black interior) Debaged, L.e.d. light upgrade throughout. ACS roof spoiler. H&R sport sprigs, Angel eye upgrade, euro sticker, ,matte black grills.
Damn! That's a tough one. I would say either the red or black with red stitching.
All depends on how you are going to mod it. Definitely do red calipers to accent the interior. If you are going light, do the black. If your going to go crazy with
Mods, then red is the way to go. Good luck!
