I am looking to upgrade my current audio set up, replacing speakers and amps.

I bought the MS-8 and I am deciding between Rainbow speakers and other brands.

I was thinking about using kicker amps to run both my 4 mids/tweeters + center channel + under seat subs and a mono amplifier sub to run a my 2 12" kicker CVT SUBS, but I have been reading a lot about amps and people seem to list kicker amps below what I expected, that's why I am looking some knowledgeable opinions about other amp brands.

Please note the best amp to run my set up using the brands I listed as a guideline.

you have some pretty high end amp brands listed there and then some pretty low end stuff. I think the realistic amps for your price range and setup would be audison and zapco. The tru's are uber nice but uber expensive as are the mac's

I have seen Tru Technology and Mac amps at around $1000-$2000 on ebay, so I'm asking in case anybody is selling or knows about a used one.

Any models you would recommend?

there are a lot of nice amps out there, I think it may be easier to get opinions if you had some more specific amps that you are interested in. Like others have said you should include JL in your search as they have very solid dependable amps. Personally I think alpine has dropped the ball lately with there digital pdx amps, the first gen pdx amps had a lot of noise issues but apparently this has been fixed in the second gen pdx's.

If I were hunting for used amps, I would definitely keep an eye out for audison LRX series amps (lots out there used for reasonable price) and also JL slash series amps. I frequent the DIYMA forums, you will be able to find a lot of usefull info there on car audio as well as a great classifieds section. I trust buying something from the classifieds there way more than buying from ebay.

Just another suggestion, over on the DIYMA forum currently there are a number of Genesis amps for sale. This is a brand from England that recently closed up shop but had made some pretty nice equipment. I currently have a Genesis profile 5 channel amp for my murano that is quite nice and they are fairly small in size.
