hello, I am going to get a Bel STi (100% undectable radar) since I live in VA, and radar detectors are illegal here, so I need advise and help as to how to install it, and where is a good place so it can be better hidden. Thank you all.

Here's a very stealthy installation of a V1 for an E39, this might give you some ideas...

Thanks bro, but unfortunately since I live in Virginia(radar's are illegal) I can't get a V1 and have to buy the higher priced Beltronics Sti Driver, because it is totally undectatable from police radar detector detectors.

I also read that this Bel STi is actually better to use in city driving then a V1, because of its higher radio frequency and less false alerts. But I still prefer the V1 on the highway because of its arrows.

STOP playing around and invest on Sti-r. Perfect, invisible install possible for E60. Install the detector behind the front bumper and display inside the car... Along the radar being invisible, the installation is also invisible. I promise you'll not regret spending an extra $500 especially if you live in area where RDs are illegal.

Really is it worth it, because I don't feel like spending $1,100, when I can get the regular Bel Sti driver for about $400-500. Also is it easy to install (plug&play or professional) and where is a good place to put it so it is easy for me to see and concealed when driving. Thank you.

The thing cost 1100? Yikes! Seriously, if you get pulled over for a radar isn't it only a $50 fine? I don't know how a cop could detect a radar detector unless he physically sees it. IMO its worth the risk of paying a $50 fine then dropping $1100 on a radar. I have a $150 beltronics radar that is great and has saved me quite a bit.

It's called a radar detector detector. It can pick up the intermediate frequency in the superheterodyne receiver in the radar detector.

Near me, they're used extensively in Ontario, where radar detectors are quite illegal.

And when you get busted you won't get only a ticket but also lose the radar detector. I would be really pissed to give away $500 RD. Sti-r gives you freedom... it's always on. No more hazzle with everyday windshield install/unistall.

Yes, exactly my point but do you know where would be a good concealed install so only I can see it when driving and nobody else, im Guessing that a good place would be the open compartment below the idrive screen, which I have since I dont have NAV, so would that be an easy place to use it and keep it away from being seen. Any other advice on where is a good place to put it?
