The Rads may be around 30lbs but the 19" 166s that came with the car is close to the same weight; I just forgot the exact number. When they say the Rads are light, forged wheels, they are light in comparison to the same size wheel in cast aluminum. If you ordered the Rads in 19s, I'm sure they would be lighter than the stock 166s.
You just have to realize the relativity in the comparison when companies describe their wheels.

My Ride: 07 BMW 525i Premium Package, Xenon Lighting Package, manual Transmission. Titanium Grey, 20% Tint around the back, 70% V-Kool on front.
Planned mods: Style 71 wheels with Toyo Proxy 4 tires, Sachs suspension upgrade, upgraded stereo, and many more to come.
I think so.
I have the 19" BBS RGR and it's like 10 lbs per corner lighter than my 17" OEM (yes the skinny 138 is like 55 lbs vs. ~45 lbs of the RGR), and it definitely feels like it's easier to spin the wheels.
i guess it also depends on what engine you have, i mean if you have the 545i/550i you probably won't notice as much differnce with so much torque compare to a 525/530.

Considering how much we pay for these cars and the reasons we buy BMW's I have never understood people ADDING unsprung weight by installing big HEAVY wheels. If going up in size light weight (forged) wheels would be a must for me. I want my car to look good but I can't bring myself to make changes that logic tells me degrade peformance, even if it's minor.
I run 18" BBS LM's on my 545i with non run flat tires. Less rotational mass = better acceleration, better braking performance and less stress on the suspension.
I have had several different companies aftermarket wheels. BBS has by far always been the best. Except for use with snow tires I now only buy BBS wheels when upgrading.
