If there is anyway to avoid hub rings I'll try to avoid it as much as possible IMO.

^ This leads me to think that most of the contributors in this thread have never seen authentic BBS LMs, which is not a bad thing since your wallets are probably thanking you . But as a FYI, you will need hubcentric rings for authentic BBS LMs also. I can confirm this since I have owned 3 authentic sets of BBS LM's during my ownership of my E60, 2 of which are still within my possession, so don't let that deter you from picking up a set of the replicas.

On a side note, for those considering this, isn't paying 1400~ for a set of replicas kind of expensive?

Ya, I can't wait to put them on also just skeptical about hub rings from past experience.

Yes tell me about the authentic BBS are bank. I didn't know the authentic BBS LM also use hub rings. I wish I would of seen these before I've picked up the 19's with the diamond color which I like. I think $1400 is kinda high, but what can I say if I paid $1300 for my 19's reps

Any specific brand of hub rings you would recommend? My cousin wants to use his E39 rims for his soon to come E60 but it seems like there isn't much discussion on what brand or type of hub rings to use in this forum. I understand plastic ones might crack, metal ones tend to stick or corrode. Or may be it's best that he should try to sell his CSL rep and go after the correct bore ones.

Thanks

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the authentic LM's are bored to 74.1 (E39), and BBS provides hubcentric rings to fit the 72.56. 2 of my sets have green hub rings that are metal. I have no experience with plastic rings. If the rings are anodized, it may help to prevent rusting and corrosion for metal rings.

Also, 1 set I have was originally from an E39 which has the 74.1 center bore. I installed the rings and no vibration, sticking, corrosion etc.

Regarding the branding of the rings, I don't think there is really one better than the other, but "better" is subjective. If you are completely clueless and just want piece of mind, order from a reputable vendor such as Tirerack.

Hope this helps you guys.

Thanks RedEye...my cousin did talk to Gary from Tirerack at the other E39 forum but I guess Tirerack has stopped carrying both hub rings or spacers.

Anyway I'll forward this thread to him and it's entirely up to him. Personally I haven't seen what a matte black CSL rep on an E60 yet so I don't know how it'll look. As for me, I prefer some concavity or lips, and definitely not black. I like some contrast between my the wheels and my jet black color.
