I've been having a discussion with one of our vendors around the availability of a BBK for a 535xi. It appears that they're aren't any. Go XI!!

Before I give up on it for now, has anyone heard of anything that would work on an XI? How about M5 brakes?

My need is not for ultimate stopping power, but rather for a modest increase - I came from an e46 M3 before this car, and miss the stopping power those brakes provided. Yes it was a lighter car, but I think there's room for improvement on my 5. So, effectively, I'm looking for a decent increase in stopping power, and an increase in looks.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to them.

I wish I could afford both! I'm not that blessed, and the 5 is the better choice for my kids...

Get slotted rotors and grippier pads - don't worry too much about the BBK, or you'll be stressing too much

Based on RealOEM the p/n for your '10 front disc brake is 34116753221 which is identical w/ RWD 525i build on early '02...
I that info is true that mean if member(s) here w/ RWD 525i been swappin' their front disc w/ M5 brakes logically you can pretty much do the same.

I've been researching this as a backup plan as well.

Did you notice a big difference with yours?

Interesting logic.

I'll definitely have to do some more research. Thanks very much for the info.

Noob question: why would the BBK's for the 535i/530i not fit the XI models? Is it just the carriers?

I'm asking because it appears that there are BBK's for the 530i's, and the carrier part numbers for the 530i and 535xi are the same. I'm sure it's more complicated than this, so someone educate me!

I would think the hubs are different on Xi models as well since they are AWD cars and therefore can have torque distributed differently than RWD models. For instance, my car is RWD - meaning the ECU expects no more than X lb ft on a given axle at any time. In an AWD car this completely changes, since the AWD system transfers torque as it sees fit, meaning ANY wheel can have full torque at any given moment instantly which is very stressful on components.
