fellow members: Can anybody give me their opinions on the Basslink/BassLink II Subwoofer systems from BavAuto. Is it a powered system?, are they as easy to install as the Bazooka Tube system? Do they provide a crisp, clean, sound upgrade to the basic setup in the e60?

That's exactly what I was thinking, I would not want that remote knob exposed and messing up the looks of my interior. The glove box is the best place. So the sound is nice and clean and bass filled without rattling the body panels, yes?

Also, can it be mounted vertically, and do I have to rearrange the systems original wiring? in other words, can it be easily removed if the need arises?

basslink has a couple leveling knobs to its side that u can increase or decrease its bass amount
but as far as trunk rattling.. none yet
seems pretty clear
mine is mounted vertically... they provide u with both types of mounts
i was even playing with the idea of hanging it on my trunk
fell through when i realized it too up more space
taking it out is as easy as putting it in
a few wire snips and ur good to go
i used a couple of these, so no actual cutting into wires

I went to Crutchfield and was reading some of the reviews posted by owners of this sub and apparently this sub has a high failure rate. Any problems with yours? Also, anybody else out there feel free to jump in with your comments.

I had the Basslink II replaced twice.
It wasn't even set to max...
Last one they gave me was a Basslink I and its holding up for now.

IMO the basslink sucks plain and simple. The conventional separate amp and subwoofer combo is better. I have a 300RMS Kenwood amp with a 10" 300W rms Sub and it surpasses the Basslink. I have tried Basslink 1 and Basslink 2 and they do not compare. Plus now they make shallow mount subs that are friendly to those of us that are trying to save space.
